There is an amazing array of laws and regulations that are applicable to 4x4 owners.  Not only are we subject to the normal motor vehicle codes, but we also need to be aware of land use policies, ORV regulations, noise ordinances and more.

The purpose of this section is to organize as many of these rules as possible in one place.

Keep in mind that the authors of this site are not attorneys.  How these laws are applied is often subject to the whims of law enforcement and the courts.  We simply reprint the laws here for you to read, we don't interpret them for your purposes.

All law pages contain links back to the source of the original material.  Because laws can and will change without notice and because it might be a while before we notice those changes and update these pages, we strongly recommend that you look at the legislation in its original format, or consult with those who may enforce these regulations for your specific situation.
